Welcome To The Center
The Center for Developmental Disabilities Advocacy and Community Supports (the Center) is a non-profit association comprised of community-based residential programs including Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs); Intermediate Care Facilities for persons with Developmental Disabilities (ICF/DDs);and Medically Complex for the Developmentally Disabled (MC/DD), that provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Illinois. Membership opportunities are also available to students, guardians and family members of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Since our inception in 2008, we have fought very hard for the recognition that all facility types are vital structures within the State of Illinois. We believe that in order to properly serve the needs of individuals with Developmental Disabilities “real choice” is crucial.
Our goal has been to build and sustain relationships with key departments and likeminded advocate groups that will allow us to respectfully represent our membership, as well as advocate for individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
The Center is governed by a board of directors elected by the association’s membership. The association is led by an executive director, who is responsible for implementing board and committee directives.
Mission Statement
The Center is the premier advocate for residential and habilitative services for individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and the organizations that serve them.
